Current Skincare Routine

My skin has been looking pretty good lately (?!) so I figured I must be doing something right with my skincare. So obviously I thought this was a great opportunity to write a post about my favourite products I’m using in my current routine.

I’ll start with what I use every morning (and most evenings if I’m not feeling too lazy) which is my face wash:

Simply Pure Gentle Face Wash by Superdrug

It does what it says on the tin. It costs less than £3, and it does exactly what I want it to do: cleanse my skin! I used to use the foam cleansing wash of the same brand but I seem to prefer a gel wash; it makes my skin feel much cleaner and more refreshed.

Step two in the morning (and last thing at night) would be my moisturizers:

Vitamin E Day & Night Creams by Superdrug

Again, so reasonably priced, only £2.99 each, and so effective! My makeup goes on better in the morning after I’ve used the day cream, and my skin still feels soft when I wake up in the morning after using the night cream.

To take my make off before I go to bed at night I have been using:

Vitamin E Dual Phase Cleansing Oil by Superdrug

I’m pretty on the fence about this product, because it’s cheap (again, only £2.99), does take my makeup off relatively well (I will always have trouble with the amount of eye makeup I wear), and leaves my skin looking good once it has soaked all the way in, but I’m just not a big oil fan. I don’t like the greasiness it leaves on my face after I’ve used it, and I’ve got through the bottle really quickly, probably cause I use a lot to get off all my eye makeup.

As you can probably tell I’m kind of obsessed with the Vitamin E range, because it’s so super cheap, cruelty free and just seems to suit my skin really well, so I’ve decided next to try the hot cloth cleanser as the makeup-removing part of my routine, so hopefully that’ll be more my cup of tea.

And finally a few extras I try and squeeze in once or twice a week;

Vitamin E Gentle Oatmeal Exfoliator

What a shock, another Superdrug product! I seriously can’t get enough; if you’re in the UK and want some great quality, cruelty free, reasonably priced skincare products Superdrug is amazing. I’m also a fan of their Naturally Radient range, but haven’t tried many of those products yet. Watch this space.

Anyway back to the scrub; it really is gentle on the skin, and my face always feels buffed and smooth whenever I’ve used it.

Cup O’Coffee Face and Body Mask by Lush

I cannot express to you how amazing this stuff smells. I’m trying to cut down on my caffeine so this is like my way of getting my fix of coffee without having to drink it. If you don’t like the smell of coffee, you will hate this, but I love it, and it genuinely makes my face feel more awake. I usually put this on if I’m having a bath, or sat in my pjs on my day off just chilling out. When you rinse the mask off it is like a scrub so I thought it might be a little too harsh, but it’s not, it’s perfect for that fresh-faced feeling.

There we go, my current skincare routine complete. Nothing too fancy or extravagantly expensive, and it seems to be working for me so I guess I should keep it up!

Now that I’m back from Germany that is; damn 100ml liquid allowance, messing up my routine. It was worth it though (sorry, skin).

Superdrug Vitamin E Serum & Day Cream

.Superdrug Vitamin E Serum 50mlIt makes me so happy that I can go into a Superdrug store and know that any own brand products I pick up will be cruelty free. This makes life so much easier, especially when I’ve done a little too much over-spending recently to splash out on a more expensive brand.

Up until now my go-to Superdrug range has been the B. skincare and make up, but having run out of my B. Night Serum and my Lush Celestial moisturiser at the same time, I decided to try out the slightly cheaper Vitamin E range.

.Superdrug Vitamin E SPF15 Moisturising Cream 100mlI have combination skin, but more on the dry side, so I thought this would be a good way to combat that, and I was right. My skin feels so soft, I have been totally converted to this range.

(I’m especially excited to try the Moisture Mask and the Super Balm)

Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk

PEACHES AND CLEAN™ Deep Cleansing Milk

This smells delicious, and works a treat. When I wear a lot of eye make-up (which is most of the time) I still have to use remover pads to take it off, but otherwise this cleanser is all you need. It really does  what it says it will, the description being: ‘daily skin detox which will help to purify and clarify, invigorate, soften skin, and melt away makeup, dirt, and impurities for a smooth, luminous complexion.’

Zoella’s Scrubbing Me Softly and Kissy Missy lip balm

From Zoe’s original range I have still only tried the Fizz Bar, which I absolutely adored. I loved the understated, fresh scent of it, so was a bit nervous when I found out the new range was more fruity.

But from when I first saw her video revealing the products for the new tutti fruity range I knew I had to have the lip balm and the body scrub. And I don’t regret it.

Zoella Kissy Missy Lip BalmI love the idea of a pigmented lip balm, even though the colour definitely won’t suit every skin type, it’s perfect for my pinky paleness.

The body scrub just smells heavenly (the scent really lingers as well, in a good way) and leaves my skin feeling so smooth and soft, it makes up for the fact that I’m sometimes too lazy to moisturise as much as I should!

Lush Karma Kream

I’ve had this product for a long, long time, and the scent I know isn’t to everyone’s taste, but I’ve always been a big fan. Especially a couple of weeks ago when I got back from Latitude with an obscene amount of midge and mosquito bites, with not enough bite relief cream to cover the whole area.

Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream in Cotton Candy

It’s super creamy, super moisturising, but it dries matte?! And it lasts for a good while for a lip gloss that’s only £2.99. I love love love it.

Oxford Street Lush Haul

I accidently spent over £60 in the new Lush store when I took a day trip to London last week. My friend had a job interview,  and I went shopping. One of us has our priorities straight..
I had my eye on a lot of skincare products,  but I managed to restrain myself to just one Oxford St. exclusive face mask: Don’t Look At Me, which looks like this

image

It looks a bit radioactive,  but it smells delicious. And makes my skin feel as smooth as silk. The perfect place to use it is in the bath, which is exactly what I did with the two bath products I treated myself to.
The first one was The Experimenter, which smells soooo good, and makes a glittery rainbow when you put it in the water. What more could you want?
The second was another Oxford St. exclusive, this time a bubblebar: the Yuzu and Cocoa Bubbleroon.

If you’re looking for a real bubbly bath, this is not the one. For a bath with cocoa butter that makes your skin feel amazing and smell like chocolatey orange heaven, this is a winner. Plus, I only used half of it, so I get to enjoy another delicious-smelling bathtime.
Now, I’m not gonna lie to ya, I bought the Hair Custard because it looks and smells so great. The only time I’ve used it though I put way too much in and it ended up being so sticky it actually felt like I’d poured a bowl of custard over my head. Lesson learnt.

My final two items were really what I went for: make up.
I invested in the Dream Earth Eye Powder, and the lipstick in the colour Amorous. Both are shimmery and beautifully pigmented. I need to get saving so I can try the rest of the make up range…wpid-wp-1432911918378

All in all, no regrets. Using all these products was the perfect way to relax post exams/post uni during my week at home. Real world..? What real world?
